Our client has full-time position available for a Network Engineer in Lynchburg, VA.

In this role, you will be part of a team supporting the deployment, troubleshooting and administration of the network and security platforms used within the Voice Interoperability Data and Access (VIDA) Network.

Responsibilities will include:

·         Providing networking expertise to the implementation system engineering team

·         Providing presales support

·         Assisting with system design

·         Administering the Cisco network

·         Coordinating activities among outside vendors, engineering teams and escalation support teams

·         Troubleshooting and solving network issues

To qualify for this position you will need:

·         U.S. Citizenship or Green card

·         BSEE, BSCE or other relevant technical degree

·         6+ years of network administration or design experience

·         Experience in network security and network security auditing tools

·         Knowledge of and experience with TCP/IP and networking principles

·         Experience with Unix (Solaris)

·         Knowledge of VoIP systems

·         Good customer service skills

·         Ability to work on mission critical systems in a fast paced environment

Preference will be given to candidates with professional certifications (CCNP, CISSP) and working knowledge of EIGRP, ACLs, firewall rules and intrusion detection systems.

This position requires extensive travel - up to 50%.
