Engineering Fellow - Fuel Control Rockford, IL
Our client, a leader in energy development and distribution, is actively seeking an Engineering Fellow with a fuel control background to join their Hydro-Mechanical Design Group. In this position you will be providing technical leadership in the design of engine fuel controls and related hardware (including fuel metering units and fuel driven actuators). It will be your job to drive technical and cost excellence in the fuel control products line.
This position requires roughly 30% travel.
Responsibilities of this position include:
· Ensuring the detail design and analysis of fuel valves and related components meets applicable standards
· Reviewing all designs to ensure compliance to SW and exceptional engineering practice.
· Review all engineering design processes and drive improvements
Requirements:
BS in engineering, math, physics or other relevant course of study
10+ years of relevant professional experience
Ability to mentor junior engineers
Strong communication skills – must be able to ability to communicate effectively with senior management, teammates and customers
Detailed knowledge of analysis/calculations of loads, flows, pressure drop, material selections, and stress
Experience with fuel metering units and fuel driven actuators
Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
